Anyone in the US take off the turn signals/mirrors? I need left and right lenses.

Anyone have a parts catalog with the numbers?

I took my mirror / turn signals off Wayne and changed to the Euro style.

The dam US models vibrate terribly where as the Euro models don't. The difference is in the mount that attaches to the handle bars when you have hand guards. The US model has the bolt with jam nut, the Euro model has a tappered bolt assembly that screws into the handle bar and squeezes the hand guard to the attaching point.

Hence no vibration and you can actually see head lights and cars behind you.

Do you need the yellow turn signal lenses?

I'll do the same. It looks like the vibration eventually cracked the mounting tabs on both and they jumped ship.

Wayne,

Put the Euro signals on. A little pricey, but well worth it in improved vision with the other mirrors. They're actually brighter than the mirror signals, so I think they're still pretty visible. At least I haven't been turned in front of yet.

MPH had a kit put together for like $100 US, it included two complete Euro turn signal assemblies with bulbs and a left and right hand mirror.

One replacement US mirror/turn signal assembly was over $100 per my dealer, easy to make up my mind with those prices.

My dealer has everything on order to convert for around $100. A single mirror/signal is $150. The replacement lenses is cheap, but out of stock.

I still wish I know the reason they did this.

Some wise old fool that is probably way over paid at the DOT didn't like the turn signals so close to the headlight, the Federallies figured it was safer for us morons to have the turn signals more visable. Hence the moving from the body to the mirrors, obvisouly no one in the factory or engeering department actually got on the bike and rode it to see that the mirrors were eye candy and couldn't be used because of the vibration.

Then the Canadians in their wise wisdom followed the US regulations, kind of like the blind leading the blind into the abiss.

All they needed to do was change the mounting adaptor and the problem would have been solved, but no that would have taken "thought process" which would have gotten in the way of "wine drinking time."

Keith is correct though, the body mounted turn signals are a lot brighter when flashing then the turn signal mount style.

Good one!!!!
We laugh ........ but its probably true.

Well, the non-US parts came in last weekend and I have a few hundred miles.
The rear view mirrors are USEABLE now. Nowhere near as much vibration.
Nice upgrade.

I had a choice of black or chrome mirrors. Wow, chrome mirrors would have looked really nice.

NOT.

Wow, what a difference. I just did the Euro mirror and turn signal change, and you guys are so right. The mirrors are usable! Woo Hoo!

Before, it was "Well, that looks something like a car somewhere behind me." Now it is, "Hey, there is silver and gray state trooper over in far lane behind me, better pay attention."

The neatest part was that my dealer ordered 2 sets, and when I got mine home, I found he had given me 2 right side mirrors (here we go again...) I went ahead and did the changeover, but of course had to leave the stock mirror on the left side till I get up there tomorrow to swap. So the difference is right there in front of me: clearish view on the right mirror, buzzing nonsense on the left side. Neat.
