Used Stelvio Purchase Query

I have read through the forum and have a reasonable idea of what I should be looking/asking for when I go to look at a used Stelvio but as current owners are there any tidbits of advise or is there some form of a FAQ's information compilation that one could refer to for this task. I have owned an 82 SP1000 before and I am aware that they can be a little fiddly at times and am prepared to deal with most issues(former motorcycle mechanic currently aircraft mechanic) but due to the fact that the dealers local to me are vanishing without replacement insight I would like to head into any transaction with my eyes wide open.

Any advise, tidbits or general direction to follow would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Tink

I guess I would want to make sure that the cam & cam follower upgrade was done.

But I read on this forum somewhere that there was a used bike purchased that according to the dealer was upgraded but the top end started making a ton of noise. The fellow brought it to a MG dealer and there is a problem with the rocker boxes and Piaggio is hedging on the repair. So just because it is recorded that the bike was upgraded doesn't really guaranty that the work was performed. I guess dealer integrity comes into play.

Other than that I wouldn't really worry about anything, mine has been pretty much bullet proof and I am hard on the bike.

Maybe have a look to see if the final drive seal is leaking and check the final drive bearings for play.
