Hello,
The handling of my 1984 V65C feels unstable when cornering. Turning to the right, the bike feels as though it is drifting or sliding; sometimes with a sort of skipping feel. Turning to the left, the bike feels normal. The unstable feeling in the right turns is unnerving. I have checked the wheel bearings and they are all good with no play. The tires have good tread though they are not a matched set. The front is Metzeler ME33 Laser 110/90-18 at 32PSI. The rear tire is Pirelli Route MT66 130/90-16 at 45 PSI. I have owned the bike for about three months and these are the tires that came on it. The previous owner had only gear oil in the final drive, but never rode the bike very much. When I drained the oil from the final drive there was no discoloration of the oil to indicate excessive wear. The front forks and rear shocks are stock V65C. Does anyone have an idea what could be the source of this cornering instability?
Thanks,
JB
