I was reading on another forum, one person say that they could not understand anyone buying a V7 over something like the Aprillia Shiver.
There are plenty of worthy alternatives to the V7 but what made you choose yours over these bikes.

Sorry, I am sure you wanted replies from people who owned V7's. But since my wife and I own a V65 Lario (along with three other Guzzi's) maybe I am qualified to toss my opinion in.
I don't see how the Aprilia Shiver is an alternative to the V7. Sure it is similar in displacement but it is a very different bike. I would venture that if they are in the same category to someone then they may not be understanding what the Guzzi has to offer. And as so many have said before, if you have to ask......
I think there are bikes that offer similar packages to what the V7 offers, like the Triumph Bonneville series.
But almost all motorcycle purchases, at least in this country where we ride for pleasure, are made based on emotion. Whether technology, character, performance, or some combination there of, speaks to you is an individual thing. So what bike is right for you is also an individual thing.
And personally, while I like technology and love performance I also value character. I could not imagine buying a Shiver. It leaves me cold, so to speak.

Gday all
When I went shopping around for a new bike I crawled over a few. Triumph Bonnevilles, Kwaka 800, some [heaven forbid what was I thinking] Hardley David sons sporties the list goes on. I was after a commuter style bike as that is what I mostly do with a decent blast out of the city as often as I can. Didn't want a big ass cruiser or screaming rice rocket yamazukionda. I like the retro naked look simply because that is who I am. None of the ones I looked at stirred my blood, none of them gave me the itch to throw a leg over and ride away. Until I saw my white V7 classic. O my lord did my heat skip a beat or what. For what it's worth that to me is what riding a motorcycle is all about, it has to get your heart beating that little bit faster. If it doesn't do it for you then you might as well be in a tin top. And yes I still get a grin from ear to ear every time I ride my little white bike. :D
