v7 first service

Hi everyone, I just bought a 2013 V7 Cafe Racer and I would like to do the first service myself. I read all of your posts and from what I've heard, the 1st service is due on the 600 ml range. Should I use AGIP motor oil and how about the filter? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Constantine

The V7III manual states to Clean the "Filter Box Drain Plug". I can't find reference to this drain plug anywhere. What is it referring to? I thought it was something inside the air filter housing so I opened it up last night and found nothing obvious. I hope its not referring to those clear plastic bulbs clamped to the bottom of the air box. The one with stuff in it looks impossible to remove without some major disassembly.

If it is like the CARC bikes, look for a hose down on the right side below the frame. Should have a spring clamp and a plug in the end.

Hello everyone! I own a 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer and when I bought it last year I had to replace the fuel pump, because the previous owner neglected the motorbike for quite some time(5 full years without using any gasoline stabilizer when not in use) and the fuel pump + tank had a lot of residue deposits and the motorbike wouldn't start, so the fuel pump had to be replaced. A week ago I've decided to test the fuel tank capacity to see how many miles I can ride it until the reserve light comes on the screen and so I filed it up and wrote down the mileage of the odometer 747 (according to the manual it has a tank of 5.8 gallons, up to 310 mile range and one gallon reserve). Today May 5th 2019 I took her for a ride and the reserve light came on at the 860 mile mark, but when I went to fill it up, I only put 3.8 gallons and it was full. Is it possible the the fuel pump and/or the fuel level sensor is not working properly? I would appreciate any help.

Thank you,
Constantine

3.8 is right where most come on. don't know about your year but 5.5 is what they claim for the 2015 and I suspect 5.3 is empty.
Mine is a 2013 V7 Racer and takes about 5.8 gallons and 1 gallon reserve, but as John Zibell wrote, fuel sensors are notoriously inaccurate, but thanks for the reply. Although I have another Q. How difficult is to remove that evap canister from a 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer? Its that ugly black oval shape thing underneath the transmission, behind the Left header on the picture. I would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks
Constantine
