I just went through my manual tonight - I picked up the V7 III Anniversary only a few days ago.

When I left the dealership, I noticed a red triangle flashing in the dash when accelerating. Being totally unfamiliar with the bike, and having to ride it on damp pavement, I though it was the traction control. The light stopped flashing fairly quickly, but I did recall seeing it when I accelerated a few times.

Well, the manual tells me that it was NOT the traction control, it was the General Alarm light. Uh oh.

The light was flashing - the manual tells me it may have been low oil pressure. Now, the manual also says that in the case of low pressure, the display should have read ALERT - OIL PRESSURE. I don't recall seeing that. So, I have no idea what it was.

I'll call the dealer tomorrow - see what they think. Regardless, I'm bummed out - the bike has 50 miles on it.

Don't fret. That is the break-in rev-limit reminder. I think it may be keyed into the odometer, as my V9 stopped doing it without intervention once past the first service mileage. I'll wager the V7 III will do the same as well. The dealer can change it after the first service, or per below, you can too.

The Traction Control (TC) light is the amber one on the left that blinks when you first start the bike. When the TC intervenes, that one will flicker (and you'll find the throttle annoyingly/abruptly shut-off). With any modifications to the bike, it's the first thing I turn off the minute I start the bike.

I will try and find out more and post early next week.
Ride on and enjoy!

On a V9 I can set up rev limit reminder through electronic menu (mode button).
The default level for break-in is 4500 rpm, but it is possible to change it at any time - It is in the manual and I've tested.
I think that mechanic just did this manually during first service. No electronic magic at all.

You're 100% correct Todd - the light flashed red only when it went past 4500 - There was no other warnings on the display. Thus, it's the break-in rev limiter. Thank-you....and thank-you to TweeZ4 as well.

You're way more help than the service guy I chatted with who didn't say anything other than "You can't believe anything on those forums...Bring it in and we'll look at it".

PS - I did detect the fueling was a bit grabby at light throttle at about 2500-3000.

Very welcome. What your servicing dealer doesn't know, is that on this Forum, collective knowledge here FAR exceeds theirs... Beyond whatever minimal (laughable) "training" they have. It's this type of arrogance that fuels the upset with most new buyers early on.

I can fix the fueling with this when ready; https://www.guzzitech.com/store/product/gt-rx-v7-v9-ecu-re-flash-tool/ -- and Q&A here; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/v7-v9-ecu-programmer-box.15762/
