V7 Special Carb upgrade

My V7 Special has been upgraded to PHF30's... which seem to be on the smaller end.

What have others done on the 750cc motor?

I'm wondering if moving up to PHF32's or 36's would provide any significant improvement to power? The bike seems to run okay now, but I haven't gone out and wrung it out yet either so am thinking top-end/higher speeds might like some additional Choke.

Thoughts?
 
From memory the 750 originally came with VHB 29s. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm mistaken. A 30 choke will give you a theoretical max flow increase of about 7%.

This is a subjective issue to a certain degree so this is opinion only without actually testing the situation. The PHF 30's should be more than adequate. They were fitted as standard on later Cali 1000's and other small valve 949cc motors.

Bigger choke and for sure you may be able to get more legs (not many) out of it but you will lose responsiveness at lower throttle openings. Bigger choke equates to slower intake velocity and hence slower to respond to changes.

I wouldn't be tempted to change a thing.
