Hi,
I'm looking for a rear wheel and hub for a 1974 V7 Sport (drum brake ). Does anyone know if the V7 rear wheel and hub is the same as the V7 Sport rear wheel and hub? ..looking for compatibility options. ...Thanks

The closest you will probably come to is an 850T rear wheel. Check with long time dealers such as Harper's Moto Guzzi. They may have one out in one of their trailers. Also consult parts books for the 850T and you V7 Sport. The 850T part number for just the wheel is 17630600, but the V7 Sport is 14630500. If you speak with Curtis at Harper's he can probably tell you what will fit.

Thanks so much John! ..i'll give them a call.

The 850-T wheel is completely different - it has an integrated cush drive and the V7 Sport wheel does not. The hub of the V7 Sport rear wheel is the same as the Loopframe (V700, Ambo, Eldo) rear wheel, the rims and brake backing plates are different though.

Hi, thanks for this info. I have the original brake plate and shoes. I assume if the hub is the same I could use my original brake plate and rear drive with v700, Ambo, Eldo hub. The reason I ask this is because it widens my search on eBay to purchasing one for my v7 sport.

Yes, you can use all of that. I may have an spare rear hub in my stash, would need to have a look. Mark @ Moto Guzzi Classics likely has a bunch of them.
