I'm considering the purchase of a new V7C . I would like to raise the bars up a bit and maybe back a bit as well. Has anyone tried this and if so, what brand did you use , how high and back did you go and did you have to create new brake or control lines ? Taking a test ride October 1st. Looks like one sweet bike. Have a 2007 1100 Breva now, but just too much weight and power for my old arthritic joints. thanks as always, Max
 
I did look into that, for my Breva.
Most of the Up&Back risers cost more than a new handlebar, also I would have needed new cables etc, so in the end I just left it, due to the fact that it only really bothers me while going down mountains.

Someone - I forgot who - bad memory! it might have been Tom Farley - suggested the cheap way.
I tried a couple of years ago, due to a frozen shoulder, and it did work out very well, though I've demounted it again.

Go buy two cheap 21 mm sockets, two 100 mm M10 bolts and a couple of M10 nylocks and a stack of washers which will fit into the sockets, and make your own bar risers.
It'll cost you less than €10 which is a cheap way to find out if bar risers really will make you more comfortable.

For this rise, the cables were just about long enough, though I didn't really like the quite sharp bend on the clutch cable. But it did work.
 
I used 9 stainless steel washers to bring the bars up aprox 1/2 an inch. Even if one was to see the washers they don't look too bad. I suppose you could have a machine shop make up a nice spacer too. Replaced the stock bolts with a 10x70mm.
