Just got it firing!
Hi,
Newb here! I got a v7ii used at about 8K+ miles. It's now at 9050 miles. I was told it got the 10 km service before I bought it. It generally ran fine, maybe with a bit of rough idling once in a while. (At one point I took it in to a local mechanic for a little checkup and he found two sensors disconnected under the side panels (o2 from exhaust or something like that), and reconnected them. The bike ran a bit smoother, but no huge difference.)
Then I went on a 5-week vacation (!), so it sat. It started back up fine, but now it's doing a weird thing where sometimes it'll bog off the line, and then surge. And when that starts to happen, when you blip the throttle a bit, it goes high and doesn't want to come back down. But sometimes it runs fine.
I took it into a different local mechanic (I'm trying out local mechanics), who "adjusted the throttle cable and mixture screw" a bit, forgot why I had brought it in, and decided I "needed" a valve job and oil change and filter change and.... Anyway, I told him to go away. I think all he really did was lose one of my side cover screws...
It did ride well going home, but then the problem seems still to be there. Any ideas of where I should start poking around? Thanks!
