Not sure if this is a thing or not, but I saw this mentioned in a v85tt thread on a different forum. Basically it was making a relief hole near the top of the fuel tank to make filling easier. I know on mine I have to dribble the gas in at about the last gallon. I am aware of the over filling issues and filling the evap can. Only time I would ever fill near max is when riding long distance. What’s y’all thoughts?

Mine will not take gas as fast as my other bikes, but I can fill it completely without “dribbling” it in. I think it is better now than it was when new. I had to remove the tank to repair an intake air leak. I carefully checked the tank venting and routing of hoses to avoid kinks when I put it back together. I suggest that you check to make sure none of the vent hoses are pinched or kinked before taking additional action.

I am keeping all of the tank venting and evaporative emissions equipment intact because the “reformulated” gasoline that we get in Phoenix is more prone to evaporation if the tank is vented without a canister. I have to temporarily seal the gas cap on my antique tractor when it is parked in the garage or the whole house smells like a refinery.

After running 3 tanks of fuel through my 21 TT in a 8 hour turned 9 with time lost to dribbling the last 1.5 gallon into the tank at each fuel stop. I decided to cut it's throat.

After removing the tank's shell, I used a inline pump to drain fuel. A 1 3/4 hole saw works nicely to cut the bottom out of the upper filler neck. Don't go deep for the cap lock lug is not far.

I used a hose clamp to make a kustom torch activated hot knife to notch the lower neck. On reassembly applied ani seize to the shell nuts. I had one that was over torqued and the nut captive in the plastic tank spun loose.

At 27k fuel fills are a breeze. I did lower the float a bit by taking some bend out of it's arm. Filling 5.5 gal with 2 bars showing.

My god man, what’s going to stop you from putting the bigger diesel fuel nozzle in there  by accident !
