Here in the UK the Bobber is offered restricted (47HP) for A2 licence holders and on asking I was advised it is just a map the dealer loads on the ECU which is reversible. I thought my 18 year old might try one.
They are offering new bike buyers a free slipon guzzi upgrade. I guessing the cats are in the mid section before the muffler so is unaffected? meaning the guzzi slipon doesnt have cats? or are the cats in the muffler? I asked because I think the bike would benefit from a de-cat like my Breva did (same hemi design no valve overlap). Given the V7 use the same ECU etc can folks loads maps if they have the ducati software and cabling etc?

Since most all Guzzis are now World bikes, I would be surprised by a restricted power version. The power sounds like a normal V9 to me. Since 2013, the ECU & Throttle body are not shared with any Ducati. I sell a flash service on this site under the Store tab above, then Fueling.

I think the A2 licence restriction might not apply in the US but it is an EU law thats why the bobber is advertised as an option power restricted and the Guzzi area manager over here said it was a different map as a opposed to a mechanical throttle restrictor. So you get to think modern bike have different maps for rain and dry? so if the rain setting is a low power equal to V7 then a V9 is A2 compliant. What I'm trying to suggest is 1 map doesn't fit all hence the newer bikes with rain/dry maps must be harder to tweak if you want to maintain 2 power output low and high. Over 49BHP bikes can restrict the power with a mechanical device fitted buy a mechanic and U get a certificate for your insurance company. Once u get to 19 u can derestrict the bike yourself.

Ok, no, the US has no such restrictions, but it should. Any new 16 yr old can buy the most current world's fastest bike, often without a motorcycle endorsement, as they don't ever care to check.
The rain map is a power to real wheel limiter, so this makes sense. A map for rain would be it, so I would suspect that both sport and rain would be the same perhaps. The fuel map is always the same on any map setting. Easy solution to the issue. Good to know.
