The V9 has a lever starter switch and over the past year it does not go back after depressing it.
Once happened during a Dealer visit, and they said "Yeah, bad design" and they reset the code. They are just too far away!
But I am OK with it because I know to pull it back. My friend did not, and when I got back on the bike and turned the ignition on, it started because they did not know the trick which I should have made clear!

So the Check Engine Light is on, and I know it is not a problem, just need to clear the code.
Having difficulty finding a reasonably priced scan tool that fits. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Looks like this. The motorcycle looks like that.:)

Thanks for the follow-up within 24.
So most of your answers can be found with a search here in this section (i.e. link below). What you'll find is there is no cheap or easy OBD style scan tool for your bike. That connector is not the data port. It's a small three position plug clipped to the back of the air box lid shown here;

If you want a device that can help with diagnostics, as well as making your bike run incredibly better, this is all you need;

While I have you, love to get your info on our Registry here;
