Does anyone know if there is a special tool for removing valve springs on a g1100 while head is on bike?I have a screw down auotmotve spring compressor which I thought would work, but the clearance around the spring prohibits it from working.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all
Duc

Thanks for your info I will try my local dealer and see how to obtain one. When I had my head work done a while back,
I think they may have nicked a seal ,seem to be getting oil on my plugs now which it never did before.I first Thought it was just too rich, but have tried leaning it with the power commander.Seems to look better now but still getting some oil on plugs both cylinders.Any other thoughts.
Thanks
Duc

Gday Duc,are you pleased with the results of your head work? what improvements have you found? the parts manual shows valve guide seals fitted to M8 versions are they retro fittable.? The importer tells me my engine is M2 or M7. How will you hold your valves in place ? Good luck, can you post piccys and outcome please.Cheers Charlie.

Where are you running your oil level?

Pete

Pete,I read almost all your posts and already set oil level approx half way between min and max.Got home this evening leaned the power commander one line more approx 2% and ran the left air bleed in a 1/4 turn.Went and rode it seems
to have cured nit will try to ride more soon and report back.Hope I dont have to pull valve springs.
Thanks

Charlie, the head work with setting the squish has done wonders.Cold not be more pleased with results, picked up 10 hp and more torque, posted dyno charts about 2 weeks ago.Pete would be the one to ask about the seals but it would probably work.Sori no pics dont own a digital camera.
Best regards
