At the old WWII Irbit Motorcycle Company factory in the Ural mountains, the factory once employed about 200,000 workers during the war. The modern Ural production was operating in about 5% of the space of the original factory with only a handful of employees.

Since the collapses of the Russian economy due to boycott of Russian goods after Putin's madness in Ukraine, Ural has now moved production of its motorcycles south from the Russian Urals to the city of Petropavlovsk in northern Kazakhstan.

In the case of my brand new motorcycle. It wouldn't hold an idle no matter what I or any other mechanic did.

Upon disassembly, it was discovered that they had installed the wrong pistons into the cylinders, causing irreparable damage. Once they put the new jugs and pistons on her, it has run correctly and like a swiss watch, every time. However, you have to laugh at a drunk Ivan who put it together the first time.

No doubt. Keeping the Ural running is a labor of love and challenge...

** Brake maintenance is Finito as they say in Italy. Pulled calipers and was awarded this beautiful sight on both carriers after re doing it one more time + paying particular care to sanding and greasing the pins and sanding the interior holes of the pads. NOW I am happy with the brake performance. Clean and equal distance pistons showing. I just got back from a trip encompassing both France and Italy and still jet lagged two weeks later. Still not sleeping well. Maybe why it has taken me so long to prep and learn the new (Hi-Ho) Silver Norge. Thank You.

I saw the earlier mention of the spacer but I wasn't sure if it was fully cleared up. It may be attached to the wheel when the wheel is removed, but the only thing holding it in place is a film of grease and grime. Once the wheel is removed, the spacer can easily be knocked or jarred loose, and then be lost without you even knowing it. Just want to make sure that a missing spacer was not the culprit here.
