Why no sweet spot on my Breva?

That's right, no matter what rpm I run at I can't find a sweet spot. Not to say thats bad, as the bike is very smooth everywhere in the range.

My Bassa liked to run smooth and happy about 4100. But the new iron seems to just dial in at 3600 or 5200, doesn't seem to care, except its got way more kick at 5200 than 3600!

How did they do this?
 
My 09 V7C has a sweet spot at exactly 4k rpm. That works out to low 60's mph.
A little low, but what are you going to do.

Like yours, it's good all over, but that's were the best balance is.

Seems like all EFI bigblocks - with an exception for the latest 8V Stelvio version, which apparently are gifted with a new mapping - has a real huge dip in torque at the mentioned revs. MG has announced this new mapping in all 8V-motors from the fall of 2009.
It has been carefully noticed in every test I've read.

The EFI smallblocks doesn't suffer from this, though a couple of us has noticed an unsweet spot at 4000 rpms, but no loose of power.
 
I find my Sport 1200 to run very smoothly between 4,500 and 4,750 rpm, which is quite nice for freeway cruising at about 130Km/h (+/- 80mph).
It also matches the speed over which the small windshield doesn't work so well AND almost the speed limit (radar wise) of free/highways.

I'd say it's a super sweet spot for me... :p

Pete's answer seems logical. I didn't mean to say those two rpm are where it runs best, it seems happy at any rpm over 3.

same here. Sweet everywhere except 3K. pootling at 20-30mph at 2-3k is fine. Above 3200 it is great and above 4K a beauty.
