I have the service manual (pdf) for the Norge downloaded and am looking for information about the TomTom GPS wiring. I cannot follow the wiring diagram as many of the labels are too small to read and the scan is not sufficiently detailed to allow enlarging to the point of reading the diagram. What I need to know - is the circuit for the GPS a switched circuit or is it always on? If it's always on, then I need to either rewire the circuit :( or remove the unit when I'm not riding.

Thanks,

jdg

JD, wiring diagrams in full scale always found HERE towards the bottom.

Also Re: TomTom wiring,

Unfortunately my Breva 1100 is an earlier model, not wired for TomTom, any suggestion from the wise sages here as to the most accessible wires near the headstock to tap into to get a switched feed?

Thanks,

Neil

I've done it several times, I tap into a yellow wire, I'm sure it's the one that runs off the "B" 15 amp fuse on Carl Alison's diagram. This wire is accessible at the connector on the left side of the frame near the steering head and just behind the alternator.

I use an Harley Davidson battery charging harness, and have adopted their connector as my power source for GPS or radar detector. The connector comes with a cover that protects the terminals when the connector is not in use. Included is an in-line fuse for added protection, although it will mean a tank removal to replace it.

Thanks Dave, looks like a good solution - I take it there's a ground/earth feed next to it - or I'll go to a bolt nearby.....

'Twas indeed a good solution Dave - the Yellow wire was a good tip.

All sorted now, thanks again.
