Wiring in a GPS - looking for advice

Looking for some advice on where to connect the ground on the harness that come with the Garmin AMPS rugged mount. It was a very tight fit, but I managed to connect the power to the auxiliary fusebox. However, where's the best place to connect the ground? Back to the battery or? I note in the Stelvio manual there is reference to a "GPS Connector". What's that for? Thanks for the help.
 
If it's the same as the one on the newer V7s, it's got a proprietary (possibly TomTom?) connector on it. I just cut that connector off, added one for which I could get a matching connector for the Garmin end, and it works just fine. I found mine under the instrument cluster.

12 vDC power supply for a GPS. As already mentioned it is wired for a Tom Tom but just snip the connector of a wire to your garmin. It is behind the left cover below the tank. Green connector.
