V7 ii Stone tank on my V9...couple of questions.

I came across a brand new V7 ii tank that I plan on putting on my V9 bobber. I have an idea of the risers I need to swap out the handlebars with a higher set of scrambler style.

Does anyone know if the fuel filter is the same as the v9?

Also, unfortunately since this is an OEM tank, it came without the fuel cap or collar. Does anyone know of a decent monza or pop up style cap that would work on the v7 ii tank? I see a lot of Monza style caps that look like they line up with the existing holes on the v7 ii tank, but I would need to measure them.

Thanks everyone!

If you are asking about the fuel pump assembly, the part #'s are different. I used a V7 pump in the V7 tank.

The V7 I-II series uses a completely different bolt in gas cap assembly. There is no easy way around it. I used a V7 cap with my key knob replacement on my RideMalibu rental; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/gtm-v9-7-for-sale.18995/

All I can get into here... best of luck with it. Not an easy one.

Thanks for the response. I will order a v7 pump.

I am not concerned about having a key for my tank and really like the Monza style. I was just hoping I didn't have to get all the internals for the collar, but that looks like it will be the case. Maybe I can find a beater tank with the collar in good shape and swap it out.

I know it is a bit pricy, but do you think this one has everything I need to install on an OEM v7 ii tank? I really like the color of the tank...and the capacity over the v9 should make this project worth it. I love what you did with your rental...glad to see it has been done and a possibility!

Thanks again.

Now I have my eye on this set...since it comes with a seat ebay.com/itm/Motor-Guzzi-V7-Cafe-Classic-Golden-Lime-color-with-satin-finish-Tank-Side-Cov/283414309519?_trkparms=aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20160908105057&meid=9c78dfcb73b84fa589a33f6e84769949&pid=100675&rk=1&rkt=15&sd=283414309519&itm=283414309519&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci:f55f8198-46c1-11e9-8dea-74dbd18017f5|parentrq:7ef915541690aa486435ba12fffe3742|iid:1

Do you think this would be too much of a pain to retrofit on a V9?

Thanks!

No, and yes.

No, and yes.
I was afraid you would say that, but expecting it. I guess I will just work with the v7 ii tank. This is my first Guzzi...which is a bit different than my vintage japanese...so learning curve for sure.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge...I do appreciate it.

Is there an easier tank I should go with...ie. a v7 iii? or will I still have the same issue with the fuel pump assembly? I got a price quote for the entire gase cap assembly from my local Guzzi dealer.
But now thinking of going a different route.

Thanks again for all your help!

this is my example, V7III fuel tank(with V9 fuel pump) on V9 bobber,
