Have noticed these transmission will hang up down shifting at times.
Have been wondering if this is caused by too heavy an oil.
I remember when I went from 90 weight oil to 20-50 syn three oil in my HD transmission my transmission shifted much better with less hang up when downshifting or false neutrals when cold.
So that being said, I'm wondering if I used a good fully syn 20-50 in my V7 transmission would this help it shift better. If the transmissions on other bikes can operate on motor oil why would this transmission not be able to? I've never noticed anyone trying this out before. For some reason the school of thought is that this transmission must have heavy gear oil? I can remember that school of thought on the HD's when they came out with that 20-50 full syn guys were reluctant to put that stuff in the transmissions and these days the practice is widely accepted other then the old school guys would still insist on 90 weight.
