    SP 1000 vibrations

Thank you for your replies. I've changed points for electronic ignition after problems with points. I have similar bad expierence with my small block Guzzi and get rid of ignition problems when switched to electronic ignition. I have this bike for a while, did not ride it much. The compression...

    SP 1000 vibrations

The vibrations are definetly from the engine. As I ride at speed when vibrations occur, I pull the clutch lever, engine speed drops and vibrations disappears. With clutch still disengaged I rise rpms to 3000 and vibrations are felt once again. So they came from the engine for sure. Timing is...

    SP 1000 vibrations

One of the bar ends is missing but as I said I can feel that vibration on the engine too. I prefer to cure the problem than to mask it.

    Valves are adjusted too.

    SP 1000 vibrations

I have two Guzzis - V65 and 1978 SP 1000. The small one is pretty smooth at any engine speed, can even handle idle speed running in top gear without much vibrations. The big block is another story - best runs above 3500rpm in top gear but have excessive vibrations in handlebars at 3000 and again...

    V65 clutch issue

I've changed the clutch pressure plate and the problem is solved. No clutch drag, no rpm drop. And no problem with increased main bearings clearances - oil pressure warning lamp stays off even with hot oil and lowest possible idle. The oil is 10W60 Repsol. Thanks for the input.

    V65 SP crankshaft bearings

V7III engine manual states 0.08mm max clearance for front journal and 0.09mm for rear. Diameters are the same as V65 so if you're within these numbers you're fine. What problems gives you bigger clearance?

    V65 clutch issue

I'm already remounting the engine. There is nothing wrong inside except worn main journals that I know of previously. They are just off the limits. When I build that engine I don't have access to the V7III engine which states limits, but V65 engine gives only factory clearances. V7 manual give...

    V65 clutch issue

Guzzi specs new plate at 8mm, worn limit 6.5mm. The hub is longer transmission side only, engine side is shorter. In V7-III engine manual I found the following pictures As I can see thrusts can't be mounted wrong way but as I can't remember for sure how I installed them, I'm considering...

    V65 clutch issue

Today I drop the engine to check if there are any visible clutch issues. Nothing. Flywheel have rust pits. As the rust can cause dragging, can not cause rpm drop. Friction plate(is new) is 7.5mm thick and is straigth, push rod is 227mm. Clutch freeplay is adjusted as it should - 2mm at lever...

    V65 clutch issue

I seached for similar problem, but not find much information. I'm building a custom bike from an old V65TT. I bought the donor cheap and not running. Dismantled engine only to find out the timing chain spring is broken. The engine is in good condition. The clutch friction plate was shot so I...

    Small block frames

Hello Guzzisti. After years of wanting Guzzi bike finally I bought one. It's a V65tt in poor condition with good engine and trans and no papers. I want to buy a frame with papers. And now the question: What is the difference between 80s small block frames? As I can see from pictures TT frame...

    NTX650 or NTX750

Unfortunately the 650 which is in perfect condition(just from pictures) is sold. Now I have to choose from several Honda XLs and an NTX 750. I'll choose the one in best condition. Sadly there are no parts avalable here for guzzis. So if the bike needs some repairs, I'm not gonna get hands on it...

    NTX650 or NTX750

I comare 650 and 750 reduction ratio. Gearbox and bevel gears are the same, just primary reduction gear have different ratio. 650 drives at higher rpms than 750 for constant speed. Can you tell me whats the rpms at 5th at 100 km/h? It can lead to higher fuel consumption for 650. Whats you...

    NTX650 or NTX750

Are there any market for NTX650? I can buy one in mint condition. But if it's not "my bike", can I sell it in Europe? In Bulgaria there is no market for Guzzis, so I must sell it abroad. What is normal price for that bike?

    NTX650 or NTX750

Thanks again, chris. Mind says "go for Honda", but heart wants Guzzi. Same with italian cars - they can ruin your savings, but you love them. If I'll love it, I'll showw off here. If went practical, I'll renew my account at XL600.de Cheers, Ivan.

    NTX650 or NTX750

Thanks, Chris. The ugly disk shield and under tank fairing can be removed fairly easily. Crashbars are esential for that kind of engine. Do you have ridden both 650 and 750. How can you compare engine power? Two more horses are not the big thing if torque is less and at higher rpms. Regarding...

    NTX650 or NTX750

Hello guys. I have a dream, to own Guzzi enduro. Now I have opportunity to buy one. Here in Bulgaria's s/h market have one 650 and one 750. For sure it will be the one in better condition. But I want your opinions. Now I ride my beloved Yamaha SuperTenere 850. My ride is 70% bad country roads...
