Stelvio NTX Wire Abrasion Issue Under The Tank

Leafman, When I took off my gas tank last year I noticed the throttle(?) cables that parallel the tube frame on the driver's left side (right above the VIN sticker in your first photo) were rubbing against the cap head screws on the motor mount. With under 6k miles one was worn more than I...

    Seriously?

Blizz, That's a piece of screen from an aluminum screen door guard. Here's a link to what I used: http://www.hardwareandtools.com/M-D-Bui ... 4Aod6mAAdg There's enough there to make at least 4 oil cooler screens for your Stelvio! Note how the expanded metal screen is installed to allow air...

    Seriously?

Found the lighting wiring diagram in the tech section of the forum. Thanks for the quick response, though. The blue wire is ground, yellow/black is positive.

    Seriously?

Toad, They are seriously the cheapest excuse for a mounting bracket you can imagine. I got the same lights for my Stelvio and just shook my head when I saw those flimsy brackets. I have an excellent hardware store close by that sells aluminum plate up to 1/8". I bent and drilled a couple of...

Stelvio Euro Sidecases - Not NTX Aluminum Painners

Ron, We're on the same page here. I've inquired to my dealer (MPH Cycles, Houston) and asked him to see if the Norge cases will fit directly onto the Stelvio NTX. No word yet but I will let you when I hear. I asked a vendor in Australia that sells MG side cases and he came back with an...

    Nuvi Bracket.

Nice set up Kirb. Saw that bracket on the Tourtech site but didn't want something else on the handlebars. Also didn't want/need that GPS device.

    Nuvi Bracket.

I took a different tack with the GPS mount. Didn't like the fact that it's mounted so high, adjusting the windshield affects the location of the GPS unit and there's vibration in off-road conditions. I centered the GPS but it could be moved to one side to accommodate other devices. I had a...

Looking for Fenda Extenda & rear hugger

I went to the big orange box and bought two, $4.95 a piece, so the first one would be the test fit unit. Works perfectly, like Toad says and looks just like his pic. It does move up and down with the swing arm and on larger bumps you might hear it banging against the swing arm but it's not...

    2013 exhaust

Just be careful about laying your jacket over the seat and letting the plastic zipper contact the outer shield on the muffler, when you stop for that "hundred mile hamburger". It fused 6 links together and ruined a perfectly good Olympia jacket! Ride safe.

    Update on factory heated grips

Az, I've had the Oxford heated grips on another bike and they are heavy duty in all aspects. The high setting is only for the initial grip warm up or when it's just really cold out. I'm in the process of installing the factory recommended grips on my very fast Orange Stelvio and they seem more...

Looking for Fenda Extenda & rear hugger

Canuck, Call David Cork with Street Fighters by Design @ 772-597-3207. I emailed him recently (sbd@davidcork.com) but he said to call if you want to order the rear tire hugger. They're in Florida. The hugger fits the late model Norge and Stelvio for sure. good luck.

Anybody need a rear seat platform

Bigtex, I was recently brain-storming about making one of those! Is that aluminum or steel? My idea was to have the plate like you have then a rack on top of that for tieing gear to - similar to what they used to make for the Bimmer GS. Thanks for the additional inspiration.

Mike1230: Thanks for the info on the Nuvi unit. I will keep all that in mind when looking for one a set up.

    Admore Handguard LED Lighting Kit

Re: side note about the Denali's Canuck, thanks for the information. Looks like a good rainy day project for me. Boxermoose, I've yet to have a problem with the stock fog lights, mostly because I haven't used them much, but I did insert a rubber washer between the light bracket and the...

    My latest Stelvio add-ons

Leafman, That GPS/radar detector mount looks great. I'm envious. It keeps the handlebars uncluttered. It seems stable when the windscreen adjuster knobs are tight but does it want to swing down when you loosen them to move the screen up or down? You mention a slight problem with the mounting...

    Admore Handguard LED Lighting Kit

Canuck, Can you go into detail on how you wired your lights to the signals and the fog lamps? That looks like a good alternative to signals on the mirrors. Great job, BTW and Thanks!

2012 Stelvio NTX Valve Adjustment Procedure

Okay, once and for all, would someone please confirm the gaps are .15mm intake and .20mm exhaust for the 8-valve? I'm coming up on my first service interval and would like to get it right the first time- okay, maybe the second time. After reading this thread I didn't get a warm and fuzzy...
