25 years all seasons, no car and car driving license. ..

So what do you want, a medal ?

If I wanted to have a very fast, light and agile bike I would have bought a BMW S1000RR...
Having nearly 200 Hp and 178 kg weight, I drove one two weeks back.
But no, I chose a bike with a character. ..

Ah so you're saying you're prepared to sacrifice power for character ?
But yet you condemn people who buy the V7 for doing exactly as you do

a cafe racer has to be a bit brute, must have balls,
must have power of at least 80 Hp and real twin torque B). 47 HP or 52 Hp are toys...

You clearly know nothing about Cafe racers.
If you did you would see that rarely do they do they have a lot of power.
Cafe racers are about getting the most of the least.
If you spend any time on Cafe Racer forums, as I do, you will see that most builds are based on low powered doner bikes.
For example, the CX500 is a common doner at the moment.
I've even see CG125 Cafe's and Yamaha XS650.
Cafe Racers are not about power.

I've been driving also a tiny bike, a Yamaha SR 500. That's just a tiny toy for very small country roads, nothing else.
But it has "pusy"power. Still nice to drive, to have fun with. On small bends, small roundabouts... and so on...
But driving on my Griso on European country roads, I'm faster, enjoying his power and torque much, much more.
Sometimes wheelying out the corners, accelerating towards 160-190 km/h (100-120 Mph) (80 Km is speed max...).
Most of the time I drive normal speeds... 80-110 km/h (50-70 mph)
Other people are always allowed to go faster than me, Hayabusas also... no problem. ;).

Before I bought my V7, I had a Griso 1100, so based on experience, I can tell you, you are spouting crap.

By the way... you go "bragging" with your friends about not too much power, save driving and wearing yellow safetyclothing. I will take another cup of coffee :p, the beer(strong Belgium) I'll take it at home.

Actually no.
I also own a ZZR1400 so I know what power is.
Funny thing though, that I prefer to ride my V7 Racer.
One day you'll learn that you don't need power to have fun.
It's the way you use what you have on tap that makes a bike fun to ride.

It's even less a place for vulgar insults lowly made in a language only a minority knows. I also think there's a dedicated section to describe oneself and one's personality. (Oh, and before submitting a post to criticise someone's English, better make sure to remove any errors from your text!)

This thread is about the new V7 line, not just about the Racer variant of said line. And certainly not about who's wrong or right concerning raw power. Maybe Todd should create a childrens' corner for that sort of topic?

Now ... we have the mystery of what's under those new heads, but also what's inside that thing that looks so much like drum brake... Guzzi's battle drums for 2012? Vintage pushed even beyond tubed tyres? Pity they can't go back to points and total-loss engine oiling! :silly:

Now we have our own Guzzitech European Union crisis breeding...

Without me ... !
I'm out of here.
This world is big enough, I'll find a cosy place, without having to "meet" that kind of "bikers".

If this is written with mistakes... enjoy them.

Totally agree
Made in a language only a minority know (not "knows")

Totally agree, and since the rather naive observation regarding the Cafe (Racer) power output was made earlier, then this applies to the whole V7 range, as they are essentially, THE SAME BIKE.

WoW  I was always told that, being of the male gender, I can only do one thing at a time. But reading this forum I get to know more about guzzi and at the same time brush up on my englisch

Kampe, ben je Nederlands? Ik kocht een 1977 Batavus HS 50. Leuke machine om mee te spelen.

Kampe, are you Dutch? I just bought a 1977 Batavus HS 50. Nice machine to play with.

Joe (from the USA)

 OMG is shows even in my forum language
Yes i,m from holland. batavus is now only producing bycicles.
But, this being a MG forum and V7 topic it would be a bit odd to give you a lecture about the brand. :ugeek:
It looks very sporty. Here you could ride these 50cc bikes without a license as long as your 16+ years
Send me a PM if i can assist you with annything

Thanks, but the Bat is in good shape. It's so simple that it should be easy to work on if anything breaks.
Yea, I heard that they only make bicycles now. Too bad, but understandable.
In the moped community in the USA, Batavus mopeds are considered slow, and hard to customize to make faster. But they have a following.

For those of you who think that mega horsepower and multiple throttle bodies are end all-be all for performance, watch this video.
