Just got it firing!
Hi guys, I am doing research on the Griso and have some questions. I am considering buying a new 2015 Griso. I have never owned a Guzzi so my baseline experience with this bike is starting at zero. First I am a long time rider (over 40 years and 30 + bikes). Second I am never satisfied with any bikes performance as delivered and almost always look for performance and suspension upgrades very soon after purchasing. Since I have no experience with Guzzi or the aftermarket support for Guzzi performance parts & services this site seems like a good place to start. That being understood I have some questions about the 8V Griso I hope some of you can help me with.
1. How well does this engine & driveline respond to basic performance mods (exhaust, ECU re-flash & or PC 5 with autotune, air box & filter mods) ? What RWHP & TQ gain can be expected from these basic mods assuming they are all compatible and sourced from a top notch source ?
2. Does this engine respond well to mild internal mods (street porting the heads, mild cams)? If the answer is yes how much does it help & who offers these parts & services ? I am not looking for radical race parts.
3. How strong is the stock bottom end (crank, bearings, rods, pistons, cases) and will they reliably support a decent increase in RWHP & TQ ?
3. Is the stock clutch strong enough to reliably support a decent increase in HP/TQ ?
