Hi,
I recently bought an 850 mk2 Lemans ex BEARS race bike.

It has the factory Racing transmission, 950cc, twin plug heads, 40mm PHM's etc etc.

I bought new 950 Barrels off Steine Dinse as I found a slight crack in one, and they don't fit the Engine block (94mm opening for barrels).

What is the best way to make fit please? Bore the block or machine the Barrels? Where do you hold the barrells if that is the best method? Obviously the old barrels were 94mm as well but not sure if made that way or machined down.

Also the original 950 pistons have a larger dome than the new replacements. Is there much benefit in running the higher comp?

I am in the country so no city running, just mountain blasting :)

Thanks,

Lou

You got the silver LeMans with the wild 2-1 “siamesed” in the front of the engine???
Higher compression ~ more power..
But considering it was a race bike I would guess it was running on race fuel... high octane...
You may run into problems driving the bike on pump gas...
I would e-mail Stein-Dinse with all the questions you ask here... they are usually pretty good in answering...

Yes, Black though not silver. Thanks

As you have the cases apart already , I'd go with having them bored out . Ages ago I bought some used
barrels and pistons from an SP 11(I think) and simply turned the barrels on a lathe . Years later I had L.A Sleeve
make me some thicker sleeves, and then I stripped the motor and had the cases bored . I just thought the
original iron sleeves were rather thin . I also got 90mm Wiseco pistons with higher domes to go with the
improved barrels . This was with my Le Mans 2. Peter
