breva v1100 starter relay mod

…Never heard back from MPH Cycles…

Strange. Did you check your spam/junk directory?

They have a phone number on their website too.

281-647-6557

I just called and spoke with Mike. He said he still makes them and has one in stock.

He assures me that if you send an email to:

kim@mphcycles.com

She will get back to you 1-2 days max.

Please check your spam folder.

The part is plug and play and well worth the few dollars.

I did talk to the guy on the phone and he was very helpful. Emailed twice to Kim no response. It’s ok. Not a complicated fix once I figured out the correct relay 😜

This is on my 2006 Breva 1100, The 1st photo shows the position of the relay, this is looking from the back of the bike to the front on the RHS,
it is the last relay on the inside under the tank.
The 2nd photo is the relay removed and looking at the underside, you can see my yellow wire removed (insulation fell off) and a red wire connected in its place (pin 3) that goes via a 15A fuse to the battery + positive.

Kevin, I made the big jump… and, nothing happened 😫 The solenoid just clicks a bit louder! I have another battery and will do a full over night charge. See if that makes a difference. Might have to look at the starter Im afraid.

Bugger, Check all the terminals are clean and tight. Oh well whip the starter off and test it on the bench. When the solenoid operates make sure it has full motion as it shorts out two contacts that send 12v from the battery to the starter. Don't oil or grease the solenoid otherwise clutch dust will stick to it and jam it later, use a dry lube like graphite dust.
