I filled my tank for the first time since doing this. Less splashing and an un-thought-of bonus: You can actually see the level of the gas without removing the nozzle.

I don't think so. You have a flip-up gas cap. The parts book doesn't show this part at all.

I guess the same question needs to be asked. Can I just remove the rubber cone in the tank. Does it actually seal with the cap or just so stop fumes from coming back during filling. Either way, very annoying since I can see the gas level when filling.

I didn't know how anything worked until I took it apart. Give it a go, but don't drop those screws in the tank.*
