Hello from Andalusia

G’day Mandrel,
Congrats on your acquisition of the V85tt T. I doubt that you’ll be disappointed.

They are a great bike if you want modern but slightly retro character, versatility, reliability, comfort, simplicity & pretty good economy in a current era motorbike. My 2022 model has just had its first annual service.

Now in my mid sixties I’d not ridden regularly or had a Moto-bike for 40 yrs, since having various Japanese twin & four cylinder, 350-750cc, bikes during my late teenage, early twenties years back in the late 1970’s - early ‘80’s.
My last previous bike was the wonderfull but slightly weird Honda CX500, another V twin, shaft drive machine.
The V85 has been all the CX was and way way more.

I’ve found over the 6700km I’ve ridden the V85 on mostly secondary sealed roads with the occasional sections of gravel & some freeway riding it’s averaged about 4.2lts / 100km. At freeway speeds of 110-115kmh that increases to 5+lts / 100km. With its 23 litre tank that theoretically should give a range of at least 440kms with 1lt spare, tho I’ve never been able to “squeeze” more than 18lts into it when refuelling with the gauge on the dash on one bar or less & the orange “refuel / reserve” light has been on for at least 50-70 km or so.

At only 69kg and 170cm with shortish legs I’d actually prefer something 15mm lower in seat height and 40-50 kgs lighter. I wish Guzzi would make a 650cc model!, tho in these days of 1000cc ++ obsession I doubt that’ll ever happen.

Good luck, safe riding, and Stay Upright!
