Tuned and Synch'ed
OK folks, for a while (about 2 weeks) during winter a couple of months back - not that cold where I live in Oz, the little beastie would do all the dash bizzo but when I hit the go button - nothing.
However, hold that switch for a few secs and vroom.
I visually checked all connections, terminals etc and wiggled / poked everything, checked relays etc, spraying WD into most of the electrics as I went. Still the problem persisted.
So I searched the forums and found numerous fixes relating to wiring / earth mods etc.
Rather than resort to this, I went over the bike once again. This time after I put all the covers back on, seat etc I thought to myself, "self, give the handlebar mounted start switch a squirt of WD40." (couldn't remember doing this previously)
So that's what I did and I haven't had any issue since. Just goes to show, things are not always as problematic as we sometimes think and it pays to be methodical and thorough when diagnosing / fault finding
Happy days - wish it was all that easy.
