The only thing worse than not knowing the health of your charging system is not knowing if you have oil pressure. My Nortons and Aermacchi had no oil pressure light or gauge, which always bugged me.
Thankfully, my 2010 V7 Cafe Classic has an oil pressure light, but no charging system health indicator. Fortunately, it's easy to add a device that monitors the charging system and indicates whether it's under charging, charging just right or over charging. I purchased a Kuryakyn LED Battery Gauge and installed it on my upper triple tree clamp. It's easy to install and doesn't take away from the appearance of the dash area, at least in my mind.
So if not having a charging indicator is bugging you, this may be a solution.
