Just got it firing!
I wasn't going to buy a new motorcycle until next year, but my wife insisted.
We just took a 2500 mile trip from Ohio to Louisiana along the Natchez Trace Parkway on a Triumph Bonneville. She told me she's had enough. So two weeks ago just looking for a place to ride to we went to the MG dealer in Wooster, just to look.
When they offered me a test ride I couldn't resist. So a week later I rode away on a brand new Green 2014 model.
So I've got about 250 miles on it.
The ECU cables are on order.
I was going to order the fuse assembly for the aux lights, but I'm glad I didn't. The connector isn't there, it looks like just a spade connector from the wiring harness. I'll wrap those in silicon tape.
I ordered the Norge top case because it has the backrest. Once that's in I'll probably commute with that instead of the side cases just to help with the fuel mileage.
Once the break in period is over I'll probably do something about the fuel map to fix the roughness around 38K rpms.
The only real issue I've found is the windshield. I've always worn earplugs, but I've found that starting around 75mph, I get this popping under my helmet that makes my ears hurt in spite of earplugs. So I'm going play with the adjustments to see if I can fix it. I'll also try the cheaper fixes before I order the Wunderlich extension.
So far I haven't found a Service Manual for the 2014. Is the 2013 manual close? Mostly I'm going to need the torque specs etc.
