I wasn't going to buy a new motorcycle until next year, but my wife insisted.
We just took a 2500 mile trip from Ohio to Louisiana along the Natchez Trace Parkway on a Triumph Bonneville. She told me she's had enough. So two weeks ago just looking for a place to ride to we went to the MG dealer in Wooster, just to look.

When they offered me a test ride I couldn't resist. So a week later I rode away on a brand new Green 2014 model.

So I've got about 250 miles on it.
The ECU cables are on order.

I was going to order the fuse assembly for the aux lights, but I'm glad I didn't. The connector isn't there, it looks like just a spade connector from the wiring harness. I'll wrap those in silicon tape.

I ordered the Norge top case because it has the backrest. Once that's in I'll probably commute with that instead of the side cases just to help with the fuel mileage.

Once the break in period is over I'll probably do something about the fuel map to fix the roughness around 38K rpms.

The only real issue I've found is the windshield. I've always worn earplugs, but I've found that starting around 75mph, I get this popping under my helmet that makes my ears hurt in spite of earplugs. So I'm going play with the adjustments to see if I can fix it. I'll also try the cheaper fixes before I order the Wunderlich extension.

So far I haven't found a Service Manual for the 2014. Is the 2013 manual close? Mostly I'm going to need the torque specs etc.

If it was me id wait to start messing with the fuel map until bike is completely broken in which is 8-10k miles on a goose. They really smooth out as miles accumulate.

Congrats, I also have a 2014 in green!

The fuse for the fog lights goes inside the fairing, not at the lights. Search for kirb's blog where he has some photos. You can definitely get the fuses from MPH Cycles, my local dealer.

I've turned off the lambdas but still have some surging between 3500-4000rpms. Agree that running it in to 10k miles is the best fix - a great mileage goal for the first year! Also, valve adjustment, TB sync, and TPS reset is important.

Windshield is an issue for me too at 6'3" and 34" inseam. I've taken it off completely for track days and that's the best clean air - no buffeting at 100+mph (but to be fair, I was always concentrating on the upcoming corners and not how my helmet felt). I'm going to either cut down the stocker or get a shorty from CalSci as I prefer lots of airflow.

Post a pic once you put the Norge top case on. I don't like the NTX top case (too square and small) and am considering a Givi V46 or V47. I'd like to see how yours looks.

No change to the NTX from when it came into the US in 2012 - service manual for any year works.

Look up ohiorider on Wild Guzzi if you want to meet Guzzista in OH - he's on a 1200 Sport and a Griso. Finally, there's a Stelvio mega-thread on ADVRider - several hundred pages to read through with lots of info.

Congrats and welcome to the GT and Guzzi Famiglia. Hope you'll add your info to the Registry thread here; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/stelvio-registry-pics-thread-add-your-bike.11540/

Most of your questions are ordered, but beware of online recommendations as to fueling. I've been at it 14+ years, and have the solution. Ping me direct email for more info when ready. Much like your Triumph, it'll take ~10k miles before she's broken in, so ride it far and often.

Post often!
p.s. Kind of frustrating how many posts tell people about other websites, yet I hardly see it reciprocated. Web traffic is important to the future of this site.

Thanks, I will look more closely.
I also want to make sure that I understand the TB sync. I will probably use a manometer as it seems simplest and cheapest, but I'm a little confused where to connect the tubes. Is it the banjo fitting where the charcoal canister connects or is there a different one?

I'm in the process of making a manometer to balance the throttle bodies. I have bought the cables for Diag but have not had a play with it yet.
The fueling on my '13 NTX is excellent straight out of the box - no flat spots and no vibes at mid-range. I have done about 22,000km since new.
I improved the noise by cutting down the stock screen by about 60mm and adding a Wunderlich spoiler. Givi make a similar spoiler also.

Thanks, I've noticed the engine starting to smooth out a little after only 350 miles. My only real concern is that rough spot around 35k and I think maybe I'll even get used to that. I've got the cables on order so I can do the TPS reset.

I think I'm going to try just modifying the edge first. I was reading on a V-strom (I think) forum about reducing turbulence by attaching a split 1/4 plastic tube to the edge of the windshield. The other cheap option would be a spacer to get more air behind the windshield coming up from below. I also saw a post where someone added a stiffener. I don't mind the wind, the issue is that the thing flexes and when it does it pops rapidly which is what is hurting my ears. But since it doesn't start until about 80MPH, I can just slow down for now :).
