It seems that the mixture is too rich because there is black smoke coming out of the exausts. I do not seem to be able to get the proper mixture. Any solutions out there? Possibly the jets are finished. Any idea where to get a carb kit?
thank you

1. Check that the choke is not on/leaking

2. Verify the float level is correct.

3. Check that the needle/atomizers are not worn (the atomizer will be ovoid).

4. If a K&N is installed check that it is not overly oiled - a light mist is all that is required.

5. Parts for dellorto are still pretty available - try the usual: MG cycle, Harper's, Moto International.

6. I'd recommend you get the Dellorto manual and read it - it is online somewhere for free.

Just to bring this thread full circle - I bought the Nuovo Falcone from Luigi in Montreal just before Christmas and it didn't take long to discover the rich-running issue.

I took the carb off. There was a small chunk missing out of the top of the carb body which I filled with steelstik,
then cleaned everything up (after soaking all night in Pinesol) and put it back on the bike.

First kick start, although once it was warmed up it was still running too rich. I had had the choke mechanism apart, so I knew everything was sliding and sealing properly there, so what next? I adjusted to give some free play in the choke and couldn't. If I disconnected the cable, the bike ran properly and not too rich. If I re-attached the cable - exhaust a bit
smoky. Turns out someone much have replaced the cable with one a fraction too short (it looks like an Eldorado throttle cable to me), so the choke was always on just a little bit.

I cut about 1/4 inch off the outer cable, which resulted in some slack at the carb. Now, no more running rich, revs drop nicely when I close the choke and the choke is closing fully. Simple stuff sometimes defeats us and simple cures make us happy!
