I just learned on one of the French MG forums that MG apparently identified the issue causing our oil pressure senders to fail (info comes from a dealer who had an MG training last week).
It apparently all comes from the rubber plug covering the sender unit, not isolating enough and so causing transient short circuits. One can only wonder as to how that would cause issues at startup and not during normal operation, but fact apparently is that this particular part is going to be replaced (undoubtedly on a case-by-case-after-it-failed basis).
Can of the on-board dealers confirm this?
