Hi all,

It has been a long time since I posted here. I am still riding and enjoying my 2017 V7III Special. She is nearing 15,000 miles and running like a charm after a major tune up last January. We moved from the Houston, TX area to Downingtown, PA (Philly suburb) last December. I shipped both bikes, but traded my MV Agusta Dragster for a new Aprilia Tuono 660. No service or dealer was close for the MV, and the hydraulic clutch was too stiff for me on local roads. The Guzzi is perfect for the hills, turns and slower speed limits around here. I am trying to sort the Tuono as the seat is too high and wide for me. I am having my local, and superb Guzzi-Aprilia dealer (Motoplex West Chester), put on an AF1 spring compression kit on the Tuono, and adjust front forks as a last chance modification to make the biker safer for this old guy.

Anyway, there you are. Ride safe.

Welcome back Luckydad & stay safe. Spare Parts in Phili just finished a SPII from a wreck for a friend. I don't think they work on the newer ones.

Sorry you had to move out of Texas, but glad to hear you're back in the saddle! How do you like the Tuono? They look like such an appealing option between the riding position and the solid power for a middleweight, but I've all but given up on chain drive for the time-being (because I'm lazy :)).

I miss the food in TX and my friends. The Tuono 660 is promising. The engine really sings. The seat is too tall and wide for me. I am trying to sort it out with a spring compression kit. I tried a seat foam shave: not much help. I am about as short as a underfed hobbit though. Took the Aprilia in today to my superb dealer, might be done tomorrow?

Definitely understandable. Hopefully they can get the seat height dialed so you can properly enjoy it!

ZAP,

I had a AF1 lowering kit installed and suspension tuned for my weight. I am beyond pleased with the result on my Tuono 660. I can now ride the bike safely, and comfortably. Motoplex West Chester, PA did the work. They are a fantastic Moto Guzzi dealer also. The Tuono 660 is a wonderful bike: handling, engine, etc are all first rate. And it is Italian.

Love the color scheme! I bet that's a blast.

ZAP,

It really is a beautiful bike to my eyes. I traded my 2018 MV Agusta Dragster RR (metallic gold yellow and black) for this Aprilia. The MV was wonderful, but zero dealer, parts, or service in the area. And the MV hydraulic clutch was so stiff, it would be terrible on our PA roads. I like bright colored bikes. Yes, it is a hoot although I am still new to the bike.

I'm sure the MV was pretty wild! Same here in Texas as far as dealer support goes... You don't expect to be the buyer with problems, but knowing my luck it would be me haha

I very much appreciate the different flavors you have to experience! Traded in a CB1000R for my V9, which was quite a change. Now if I could just get my wife to let me snag a second bike ;)

Two bikes is a necessity if you are a riding addict. My Guzzi V7 and the Aprilia are very complementary. I like Guzzi cruising and also an Italian sport bike with all that power and sharp handling. The MV was absolutely insane. A terror. The new Aprilia is "just right", but the engine really wakes up. I am still breaking it in, so not pushing too hard.
