Nah, not interference or anything like that.
It's not the "taking off". It's the "putting back on".
The way the covers fit is quite different from my old round-fin -- you're somewhat blind getting the screws into the head and it's easy to mung up a gasket when you're putting it on, especially when the stock gaskets are as fragile as they are.

Sorry, I just got that tuesday-at-10pm-made bike. Nobody tired from the Sunday evening party, nor from a steady lunch (I've had the opportunity to have a meal in the Mandello canteen!) or from a whole week of hard labour-Friday-afternoon-disgust.
Tho I do admit the bike didn't suit me when it was new. But there was a cure for this.
