Finally sorted out the lead to connect with my TomTom Rider 2. I could see the TomTom connection under the side panel on the left but looked difficult to get to. In fact it is a 10 min job. To get the left hand side panel off remove 2 allen headed bolts: one under side panel at the side, one under headlight at front of panel. Remove nut under tank at rear of panel. With a bit of jiggling the panel then comes free at the front, remove indicator connector and you have access to the coiled up lead. Snip through the cable tie, route it to the bars then reassemble. The lead is plenty long. Have fun.

Thanks for the imput. A couple of questions:

First, you're in England so your 2011 Model 8V Stelvio has the large fuel tank (I think) and may be the same basic wiring in certain areas that will be on the 2012 Stelvio NTX bikes to be shipped to the US this year. Is this Tom Tom wiring setup standard on the Stelvios or are you just using an available set of wires to connect to your personal Tom Tom GPS?

Second, is this set of wires continuously "Hot" from the battery or is it "Switched" on-and-off with the ignition key? I use a Garmin Zumo 550 GPS and like to have it hooked up "Hot" from the battery so I don't have to reboot it everytime I turn the engine off.

Yes my Stelvio has the 32l tank. The wiring with a TomTom plug is all there under the L/H side panel. The power feed is switched, it won't charge the unit when ignition off but the unit doesn't power down.

Has anyone already used the TomTom connector for a Garmin GPS ?
Is there an adapter available from Tomtom to Garmin ?
is there some TomTom logic built in ?
Can it be used in any way ?
Does not matter if 550, 220 or 660.

My experience is that my Garmin Zumo 220 only works with Garmin charging plugs.
All other versions e.g. USB cable with plugadapter for power outlet only charges the unit (its like connected to PC) but does not allow maps and navigation.

I'll try and find that lead and see if it can fit it up to my Garmin. If not, I typically run an auxillary fuse box directly off the battery for electrical accessories and will "Hot Wire" the GPS from it.
 
I cut off the connector and wired on the transformer for the Garmin. ( the garmin takes 7 volts not 12)
Works perfectly.
 
I cut off the Tom Tom connector on the Norge and added my own one to connect onto my Garmin.
Don't know which model Garmin you have Shrike but many Garmins work direct off 12 volts as does mine.
 
I've wired up my Zumo 660 to the TomTom plug/wires on my Norge as the Zumo takes a 12-v power supply.

I had the TomTom Rider 2 on the Norge originally since the bike was wired for it, but as TomTom no longer supports any motorcycle units in the States and I started getting the dreaded TomTom Charging Mount failure to charge problem, I had to find another solution.

I can't understand why anyone in the States would buy a second TomTom. The first one I can understand, but not doing it to yourself a second time. In Europe, it's a completely different story.

Ok then.. lol I have a nuvi 550 and never thought much about other units running different power requirements.
