I ordered in an LED signal light for my California iii. I got it from my local Harley Davidson dealer. It came in and is claimed to stand vibration. So I installed it on my California iii and it doesn't work. I plugged in a cord to the battery trickle charger line on the bikes battery. I hooked the ground clamp to the body of another tailight I had and touched the positive to the contact of the bulb on the bottom. Light comes on. I did the same thing to the LED and it blows the three amp fuse no light. I replaced it with a 7.5 amp fuse try it again fuse blows no light. I take the bulb back to Harley Davidson dealer and they plug it into a sportster it works and flashes. I take it home the regular bulb works in the California iii and the LED does not. So then I try the LED in my 1100 sport and it works! Confused what happened?

I had a thought I will bring my multimeter to my bike garage from the farm tomorrow. I am wondering about low voltage. When I turned the key on the guage said ten volts on the California iii. So perhaps it needs more voltage to fire the bulb. Not sure how that would have blown fuse s when I was testing it but might make sense.
