I can see verifying the emissions stickers, but I have yet to hear of any CA DMV inspection involving evap cannisters and/or catalytic converters. Can you provide add'l info, or a link? I ask because this could impact the possibility of purchasing an out-of-state bike.

This is simply the luck-of-the-draw at any given DMV. While, in most cases, just having the sticker appears to be sufficient, you may get an inspector that looks for the correctly stamped exhaust (OEM) and the canister - especially if they are in a bad mood and know anything about bikes.

I don't have a link, I'm afraid. I got pretty deep into this discussion on a Triumph forum. To be honest, only one guy got burnt and he probably had it coming (bad attitude at the DMV). Everyone else was fine with just the sticker. The bottom line is, if the bike has under 7500 miles, it must be untampered with and be in the same condition as new.
