V7 Seat (stock)

I just bought a 2013 v7 Special and although I have no other bikes to compare it with I can agree with the people that write in to say they are grinning all the time they are riding. Love the bike.
I only have about 100 miles on it so far but it came with a custom seat that I don't care for. I have heard some people say the stock seat is terrible and others say it is fine.
I would like to get a stock one for my bike and I figured there must be people out there who didn't like their seat and would be happy to get something for their old stock seat.
So I figured I'd put a wanted ad out there but before I do that I thought I'd see if anyone has a strong opinion on the stock seat one way or another.

Most people tend to hang onto their stock seats... However they are pretty cheap new from the dealer, or I can get you one if you'd like. Also check eBay.
Classified Ad postings are in a separate section for Forum members who support the site, thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I have seen some on ebay but the seats have an additional seam and dont have the Guzzi lettering in the back of the seat which made me wonder if they really were original stock seats.

I'm getting used to my stock seat after 2000 miles. However, since the weather cooled down I've not been doing long runs, so I may yet be changing my seat come the spring, if discomfort sets in after 100 miles (it used to be 70, so things are improving). Not that that's of any help to you. The pond gets in the way, and the cost of shipping would probably be prohibitive.

There is one small but importance difference between the OEM seats for the '13-'15 Special and Stone. The Stone seat has an artificial strap that has no function but can be uncomfortable if your seating position happens to place your butt on the strap. The Special seat has no strap, but is otherwise identical. If you do get an OEM seat, I'd advise making sure it is for the Special (part 88793900A1) and not the Stone (part 978931).

If you find the seat uncomfortable, don't overlook the rear suspension. I bought a 2016 Special and thought I would need to replace the seat but it is ok, especially with aftermarket shocks. Of course, that opinion depends on age, etc...and so I understand that some won't like the seat. BTW - I'm under age 50. which seems young for MG owners;)

I don't have a seat for you, but rather some feedback.

I have the stock Stone seat (with strap) I sit my butt back pretty far and have no issue with the strap. I also use the strap as an anchor point for when I tie down extra riding gear.
I have 8000 miles on my Stone so far and the seat is really starting to break in and mold to my butt-ox. I am really liking it so far and have done 300mi days before. My arms get tired before my derrière does.

I found that stock seat cut into my legs a bit on longer rides.

I wasn't thinking of selling it, but you're welcome to borrow it and try it out.

That might make sense before you spend money on it and maybe decide you don't like it too.

I picked up a used seat of a café that is a bit better. But in the long heil I plan on picking up a Corbin or something else.

I didn't realize the Stone seat was different from the Special. I have seen the seats with straps but didn't make the model connection. I actually like the looks of the seat with the strap. It's similar to the Bonneville seat.

I have this one if you are interested? Has about 200 miles and like new.

I currently went with a Baak seat.
