My thanks to both responders. I was glad to hear that a spring swap is possible. If an 800# spring is recommended do you recall what the stock spring weight was?
I will contact TD when I am ready to go. The adjuster bearing thing looks very sensible.

O.K. I understood most of that :D
At 6' 4" and 250 LBS I don't think I was the target for suspension baseline on this bike.
(1) If I wanted to change only the spring to get sag under control is there a spring I could buy (that would fit!) so my local suspension shop could swap it for me...
Ahh, that's the one. I won't be pulling the shock until September because the bike will be vacationing with Blackcat for the month of August.
If I lived near you I would leave it in your driveway with a wad of 100's tucked under the seat.
That would be my way of avoiding the aforementioned...
I put the O.P. to work repairing the front brake line on my Eldorado.
He did a very neat job and so I let him ride my Griso.
He almost crashed it going in a straight line when he lead-footed the rear brake,
but all-in-all I think he will be an asset to the Guzzi community.
After a short...
I have an '09 8V Griso which is very similar but not identical to the newest Grisos.
New Guzzis suffer from heavy depreciation so the newest bikes will be thousands more than a low milage bike available used. If I was to do it again...
Gold Coast and Brooklyn have idiots on the sales floor...
Not real flooding, just a day-long downpour.
Steve, it was cheaper unless you consider that I had to sacrifice a stock seat. Stock seats are listed at $200 here in the U.S. but are basically unavailable unless something has changed in the MG parts and accessories warehouse.
Your leather solo...
Jay at Pirate Upholstery in Kingston NY made me a new seat. I asked him to make it taller and flatter to accommodate my lanky frame. He deleted the tool storage to move the pilot area back and smoothed out the line from tank to tail. I'll tell you how it rides when the floodwaters recede.
Thanks for your post.
Expensive suspension mods seems to be a a universal language...

This looks nice but I am looking for a spring only.
(1) Has anyone replaced the stock spring with something a little more robust?
(2) Does anyone...
A field trip to Reboot would be very educational. If I was doing a cafe Guzzi I also would prefer a roundhead engine for aesthetics. Assuming you do not have unlimited time and money there are ways to save a little of both. My preference as a starting point would be a late '70s G5. This was...
Tall guy with a Griso here. I acquired a set of Knight design lowered pegs but haven't put them on yet for the reasons discussed above. I have an appointment with a seatmaker in Kingston, NY to discuss exactly what you propose. Sargent and Corbin are the best known but I wanted someone close...
That looks fantastic Steve. I am not a fan of the A770 normally but that two tone looks great and the way you picked up the tank stripe... Most artistic!
