    KY Ride - 7/19/24

I only have about 1500 miles on the Continental RA4s right now, so it's not possible to make a full comparison yet, but so far I prefer them to the Pirellis and Metzelers than I had previously. If you are headed to Western NC, the suggestion to change them before coming may be wise. The road...

Two Silly Questions - Brand new Mandello

Some people know how to shift properly, whether they use the clutch, or use a quickshifter. :) Most of my bikes don't have a quickshifter, but I have no problems using the ones that do. Some are better than others, but the one on my V100S isn't too bad. Like using a clutch, it's a matter of...

Close the throttle for downshifts, open the throttle for upshifts.

Just look up Pyramid fender extender - they make a small one, and this is the larger one.

Griso REGISTRY & Picture Thread - ADD YOUR BIKE

This section is so much quieter now with the V100 around, but mine still demands equal time !

    Worthless V100 tire thread

Pretty sure @Seasider is referring to the GT tires such as the Pirelli Angel GT(A) and Michelin Road 6 GT as heavy duty tires. Everything I know shows them to be radial tires, but with an additional ply or plies.

    Flaking paint on crankcases 🙁

I seem to remember other cases of this happening early on when deliveries started.

    Worthless V100 tire thread

To specifically answer this question - Solo - generally around 36F/38R, but the type of riding can require some change to those numbers Two up - generally around 38F/40R

    Worthless V100 tire thread

It is common knowledge that most manufacturers post their RECOMMENDED tire pressures to provide maximum tire life and safety, with good handling. It is also common knowledge that lowering tire pressures from those numbers (within reason) provides increased traction, but at the expense of tire...

Thoughts about the V100 after one year

Exactly. I'm onto my 3rd set of tires, and I have just over 7500 miles.

Oil Filter Cap Same question as Florida Lime

Yes, it's very easy to see the correct orientation, and the bolt pattern only allows it to go in the correct position. One poster mentioned replacing the bolts with studs and then using nuts to bring the plate into position so it doesn't stress the threads in the case.

    Worthless V100 tire thread

I would have gone with the Road Smart IVs for my 1st (or 2nd) tire change, but not when I saw the prices. Almost as much as the Michelins. :( They used to be much cheaper, and often had a rebate deal going on as well.

Griso REGISTRY & Picture Thread - ADD YOUR BIKE

Decided the Griso needed some love today, as it seems the V100S has been hogging all my MG time. :) All the pictures are alongside US129 in NC, including the last one taken at the Overlook at Deal's Gap.

The only time I pull off the panniers is when I change the rear tire. They both get a thorough cleaning at that point also.

Love the color matching as well. I was able to remove the handlebar end weights no problem, but I also replaced them with blue Loctite.

    Ago V100 Header System

Those headers are oversize, so combine that fact with the deletion of the cat, would mandate some ECU changes IMO.

    how to trailer a V100

I did add an edit to my original post about using Baxley wheel chocks, and how then less tension is needed on the straps. The route to my dealer is through Deal's Gap ("318 corners in 11 miles"), and everything was very secure. Here's another shot of a different bike showing the Baxley a little...

    how to trailer a V100

They do need to be positioned properly. I've used them on sport bikes that have bodywork making access to the lower triple clamp difficult since the early 80s with no failures.

    V100S Pricing

Take a look on Cycle Trader and see what similar bikes are selling for in your approximate area. I see new 2023 S models listed from between $1500 to $500 off, with many dealers showing MSRP. The one you are looking at sounds like it was a demo, so of course, that might factor in the price as...
