Took mine for a 600 miles round to Wales and back where I came across this very old road sign .. a bit specific on distance from London; 237 1/4 miles.
Touring screen, centre stand and hard panniers.
Bit of a hard seat too but that wasn't the plan.
First service later this week.
When mine shows up I plan to mount a Givi tank bag that clips on the fuel cap mounting.
Will confirm in a couple of weeks.
My V85TT is at the dealer just waiting for a couple of extras to arrive; ordered a fully loaded model.
Tank bag mounting looks same as Triumph and Benelli (the one I have...
Interesting thread but it looks like it started as headlight on main beam wasn't much better than on dip.
One problem that Stelvios have is that the headlamps dip to the right - in the UK (and many of our former colonies) this means when you dip your headlamp it shines right into the face of the...
actually some Hein Gericke shops in the UK do remain open after the whole firm went into administration and Optiglanz can be bought there.
I have used it to almost recover some dreadfully discoloured headers on a Breva.
As to time to do .. well for mildly stained pipes just spray it on, leave a...
Quite normal on just about all recent Guzzis.
I use a product called Optiglanz to clean off.
Smells of almonds but doesn't do your skin a lot of good so use rubbery gloves.

I know we are out of sync but no, Eddie50, the engine didn't go bang.
The technician, who did the work, examined the cams and followers very closely on the 12K mile service and determined from his extensive experience that they were not in the state they should have been. So, no engine damage...
Well I'm the Gordon that Eddie50 mentioned.
Yes, was my 2009 Griso SE.
Fine bike and sometimes think that I was nuts to sell it - I now ride a Benelli Amazonas.
My Griso was not on any recall list.
Had cams/tappets replaced by Piaggio at 12K miles but had to use the letter from Tony Campbell...
As I posted elsewhere on the forum. the AC motors have bigger oil ways to the cams and heads to improve cooling.Yes too, oil pump redesign to improve flow and reliability.

Re: Changes to valve gear?
I woudl be extremely surprised if you have any such problem - that's the third, at least, revision to the cams system and the AC motors have bigger oil flow holes in the head to improve cooling.

What is the engine type?
This is the Ax in front of the engine number on the bottom LHS.
The x can be 5,7,9 or C thigh 7 usually is only found on 1200 Sports.
That's always a clue to what's afoot.

Careful.
0.10mm (in) and 0.15mm (ex) are the settings for A5 motor.
0.10mm (in) and 0.20mm (ex) are the settings for A8 motor.
Take a look at the engine number - it'll say A5 or A8 in front of the actual number.
It is not smart to get the valve clearances set for the wrong engine.
A 2011 should...
Why notify?? ... well if you live in UK and you have an insurance claim and you haven't advised then of a modification then they won't pay out.
And it is sometimes worse:

Also if you live in UK there are quite a lot of new Guzzi dealers come...
My wife is very happy on the back of my Griso and says it is comfortable.
I did have to add a rack - that provided grab rails for something to hold on to.
I use a Hepco Becker rack and sometimes put a top box on there - this is an old HB Junior but with a squab fitted for back comfort.
I had a...
If you live in the south of UK then Corsa Italiana and Haywards are the places to go to with warranty work.
Both know what they are doing IMHO.
I've seen or heard about top end failures on Stelvios,1200 Sports and Grisos.
Some got fixed properly, others not quite so.
I believe that more than one...
Third it.OK, so I'm biased as have have a green SE that is 2.5 yrs old and still turns heads.
The silver/dark grey one does not have the same wow factor.
I'll go as far as to say that nothing on the Guzzi stand at EICMA had much of a wow factor. They appeared to be just using up what paint they...
Alternative option is the Hepco Becker rear rack.

I have had this on by Griso SE from day 1.

On the subject of luggage there's pic of my Griso with 42lt HB bags on the Moto Corsa Facebook page:

Yeah, I know that it makes it Land Rover size but they are no wider that the enge of the mirrors on the bars.

The service note 002-2007 regarding this fuel pipe problem is noted under a Recall Campaign.
All Moto Guzzi dealers, including UK ones, were able to access this information though maybe not all did the work.
Model affected From VIN no. To VIN no.
