Hi, today back home from 250 km ride stopped the engine one minute later the instrument panel show ECU disconnected, I wonder if Someone could help, thank you

Check the connections to the ECU and the dash. Clean with contact cleaner. Make sure the ground wire on the ECU is firmly attached with a clean connection.

Also, check the 12V battery, associated connections, and all ground connections. A weak battery or loose connection might have caused excessive voltage drop when the engine was turned off (voltage OK as long as alternator/regulator system was maintaining adequate voltage while the engine was running).

Thanks Gerry, will be working on it today and try to get good news

Load test the battery (or at least monitor its voltage). I've had a cell fail whilst riding, bike ran perfectly but wouldn't restart when I got home, checking battery showed 12.5V when sitting but dropped to about 7V when ignition turned on, high resistance cell.

Thanks, battery will be checked

Thank you John, the battery is on charge mode for 5 hrs at 2v will have it checked at the store. Stelvio only 18500 km i’v had it since end of oct 2022

Also search and read about the ground behind the starter, in addition to the battery and clean and tight connections. 99% of the time it’s nothing to do with the ECU, in fact that would be last outside of the ground connection there.

I have been working on the Stelvio this afternoon and finally getting some results, ECU reconnected, motor starts and stops instantly but SERVICE showing, getting confusing,

I know you believe otherwise but the symptoms you are discussing are very common with batteries that are not in good condition.

Have your battery “Load tested” at any major automotive parts franchise. They offer this for free.

This is not “reading voltage across the terminals” at all. It is completely different.

I am willing to be that your battery fails a load test.

Seen this many many times here…

I have to second what Scott says above. Do your due diligence on the battery. The two times I have had strange behavior on my V7 III they have both been because of the battery. Once was a failing battery and once was dirty (though clean to the eye) terminals.

I wanna thank everyone who has given some time to read and trying to help and solve problems with ECU, mine is resolved since this morning after being able to erase SERVICE on dash

Welcome, but you cannot "erase" SERVICE on the dash for those reading this thread.

i understand it’s always there, what i have experienced with that problem is everytime I searched in diagnosis at zeroing service Instead of erasing pressing YES ; you must press NO it took a few attempts to get all of this
