GTM Monster Builds

what class will you be aiming for? 1650cc-M-PBF (141+mph), A-PBF (167+), APS-PBF (225+) (Bonni 2021)
Pls post if you go... It would be great to see it run.
~See ya on the salt,
BTW I don't think dustbin type fairings are allowed now-a-days
No idea yet.
Streamliner is still valid, yes? You know of or met Bill Ross and the Mandello Meteor? He holds six records on the salt.

Oh yeah.

Oh yeah. Raced with Bill and Team Stubby Crowbar :) many times at Elmo and I think Bonni too. He was always very skilled & focused on what he was doing... and very successful.
I'm not sure if he is still racing.
That bike (per the picture) is in 1350cc Altered Partial Streamliner (APS) Pushrod Gas (PG). The current record for the 1350 APS-PG class at the salt is 184+MPH (Destination/Huff with a Buel).
Streamliners are VERY valid. Current Bonni record for 1350cc Motorcycle Streamliner Gas is 285+MPH (EZ Hook with a Kawasaki)
But since your Guzzi is larger capacity than 1350cc you'll need to run in the next size up class. 1650cc. I don't see a current record for that class so you'll probably hafta beat an "open" record. Can't find that data right now.

I figured so, and that's Subtle Crowbar. ;) Indeed he is skilled and focused.
He was building a Turbo motor 2-valve last we spoke. I think it started to fizzle for him when the salt was too wet to run a few years in a row. I need to reach out to him again and catch up.

Beautiful motorcycles Todd. Your work and dedication to the marque is a credit to you. Now unfortunately it's a feet forward cruiser style for me (oh for a lottery win, an eldorado would be on its way to you for modification), in the meantime the 'toddifications' have really improved my Eldo. Please keep up the great work.

You are just surrounded by speechless admirers who’s fingers are cramping in excitement...

You and your team do exceptional work.
Hands down top notch- top shelf Full stop - the end!

Just a quick update now that I've ridden GTM-02.13 approximately 250 miles. "Elvis" has improved dramatically since my first short ride. I'm assuming it's a combination of the Auto Tune dialing in and me becoming more familiar with the bike. I've always loved the delivery and character of the 1064cc two valve motor and have never been consumed with huge HP. I told Todd my goals were 90 HP and sub 450 lbs. Todd exceeded my goals. Todd's head work, exhaust and tuning have significantly improved the engine performance while keeping the excellent mid range torque. The improvements in the chassis and handling are what really stand out. I wanted a modern Tonti sportbike and GTM delivered! The front end feedback is excellent and the light weight allows me to change direction effortlessly. I still need to dial in the suspension but it's very close. Updating the braking components was another great decision. The bike just works! It feels like an extremely well sorted production bike and not a mismatch of components like many customs. My only ask would be to have a low fuel warning light. I'm old enough to remember the old "open the tank cap and slosh" to guestimate the remaining fuel and range but would love a "dummy" light. Todd worked with me to make over 100 decisions before we settled on the final options and specs. We nailed virtually every decision/option. If I was going to change one thing, I would have specified the MotoGadget tach with digital speed readout instead of the Speedo with digital RPM readout. I do miss watching the arc of the tach needle as it sweeps across the dial. GTM calibrated the speedo perfectly so no 10% buffer like virtually every production bike! I would encourage anyone on the fence about ordering one of the remaining GTM customs to take the plunge.

I too am a fan of the 1064cc power plant in my 96 1100 sport, so your picture of Elvis & description of what Todd has done captivated me.
Pity the distance, hard to find people (down under) of Todd's calibre who confidently modify Guzzi's for peak performance & handling.
The best I could do to my Centauro/992 special was put 80,000rpm 3 phase brushless fans in the inlet tracks (opened them up a bit) to help pressurize the air box. They draw too many amps to run at full tit, but just running them at10% fan speed makes the motor (cammy & raw naturally aspirated) give a much smoother power delivery, able to pull from 2500rpm in top without any hesitation, really fly from mid throttle with smooth responsive throttle action, & even fuel consumption is ok at 40mpg instead of 45mpg.
Keep up the the good work Todd - most people only dream about things, that you get on & do so well, & it doesn't go unnoticed :smirk:

Well done Todd, I love the part that states that you work 'with' the client.
So many custom builders don't and thrust their own wares and thoughts onto others.
And give your welder a raise mate!
Beautiful control.
Chris.

One of the things that so interests me about Todd's custom builds is that he build bikes to be ridden. None of that trailer queen crap that most custom builders create. Most of them should be called custom decorators. Todd's monsters are for the road. More power to ya. And someday one of them will be mine.

Just a quick update on GTM-02.13 "Elvis". I was riding up to the Blue Ridge Parkway last October to take a couple of photos Todd had requested. Just as I was turning onto the the service road to the Parkway, another motorcycle tried to pass on the left, clipped my handlebar and I went down hard on the left side. I was stunned but looked up just in time to see a couple on a BMW R1250GS ride away. Fortunately, Elvis and I were both bruised but not broken. The damage was mostly cosmetic and I was able to straighten the controls enough to ride Elvis home. After getting home, I determined the bar end mirror was broken, the steering stop on the bottom triple clamp was broken and the left valve cover and cylinder fins were damaged. Overall, Elvis crashed extremely well. I'll have Elvis 100% back together soon but I'm still bothered to know that a fellow rider hit me from behind and didn't stop to see if I was injured or to offer assistance.

Bill, thanks for posting this here. Look forward to hearing more on how you like it compared to the Griso. So happy you and the bike came out with minimal bumps and bruises. Absolute disgrace on what the other rider did to you, and didn't. No surprise he was on a BM-Trouble-U. ;)
