Quill T3 Exhaust Can

I've just had the bike out with the CAT removed, K&N fitted, snorkel removed and airbox modified and what a transformation. No more weak mid-range, a definate power band kicking in and almost no low speed snatch. The wife was absolutely amazed how well the bike now accelerates.

My airbox mod was to take the lid off turn it over and drill 15mm holes between all the small webs, about 20 in total.I went that way to afford some protection to the filter. A replacement lid is about £7 so I've ordered one just in case there's any warranty work.

Cheers Ian (one happy Stelvio owner) :D :D :D

sounds good Ian. I'd be tempted to put it on a dyno to check the fuelling is ok, and have a look at the bhp and torque figures. The nearest I know of is at Quill in Golborne, just off the A580.

I'm pretty confident that the fuelling is fine, I did an airbox mod on my Sport and fitted the Quill and then ran it for 16000 miles with no issues. I also disconnected the stepper on that but am not bothering on the Stelvio because it now runs so well.

I know the holes are not all inline, I'm not too bothered about the aesthetics but should have marked out before drilling, must try harder.

I wouldn't mind putting it on a dyno though because the bike is so much better than stock, I know Quill at golborne, have been there before.

Thanks

Ian

I think I'll be trying that airbox mod, my job on the Breva worked like a good un!

Just got back from a test run as I've had the silencer de-catted by Sabre Custom Engineering, it runs a lot cooler now and performance is definitely UP!
If you have a Stelvio contact Steve at Sabre and he will sort your silencer out fast, mine had a 4 day turnaround.

They have an ad on e-bay.

I previously had a quill silencer fitted but just couldn't take the popping and banging (I don't mind a bit but JEEZUS!)

Rob

I had my bike decatted by Steve, did he show you his KR1S by any chance. Todd at Guzzitech reckons the airbox mod is risky because it'll cause the bike to run too weak so I changed mine back, I must say though that with the airbox drilled the bike ran absolutely superb. The risk is all yours, good luck.

Arleyal you ain't joking, I couldn't motivate them to sell me a new bike the other day and |I gave the sales fella every chance to make an offer but he didn't seem bothered.

I'm in Wigan by the way
