I bought a 2017 California Tour two months ago with 700 miles on it. As far as I know, the previous owner changed the oil and filter and trans fluid (his notes in the owner’s manual) and never took it to a dealer for the first service.
I’ll soon have 6,000 trouble-free miles on the bike. I can change the oil and filter, check the valve clearance, replace the air filter, etc. What I’m concerned about is recalls and tech bulletin upgrades a dealer would know about that I don’t, unless I stumble onto them in these forums. I’m assuming they’d look up my VIN and get a list?
I’m wrestling with whether I should go to the dealer or just do the PM myself and if other stuff ain’t broke - don’t fix it. I welcome advice from those with more Guzzi experience than me!
