Looking for suggestions on V7 accessories / upgrades

Thanks everyone for the input so far. Todd, the website looks great since I was here last and you seem to have a bunch of great upgrades. I do intent to do some touring, potentially long but solo. I know the stock won't cut it. I looked a Zinfans bike. The seat looks like it would work...

Looking for suggestions on V7 accessories / upgrades

I haven't been on Guzzitech for awhile, but I am seriously considering a V7 and am looking for ideas, suggestions, pictures of upgrades that people really like. For my riding, I am going to want: - hard luggage such as Hepco Becker. - some wind protection that doesn't destroy the look of the...

    Tires for 2007 Griso

Thanks for the suggestions! I have mounted a set of Pilot Road 2's, and like the way they handle. The bike is much easier to manouver at slow speeds. I know from previous experience they will give me good mileage. All is well.

New Handlebars... how to remove ends?

So, a few questions; 1. did you get the conical bar mounted? 2. how do you like it? 3. what is the differnece between the stock 1100 and 1200 Griso bars (if any). I have an 1100 and am considering a narrower bar as well.

    Tires for 2007 Griso

Thanks for the feedback. It sounds like I should check the suspension first, and I know a guy locally that has good reputation doing setups, so I am going to check it out. As for tires, I will probably go with Michelins just because my personal experience on other bikes has been so good...

    Tires for 2007 Griso

Boring subject I know, but I am about to finally get rid of the stock Metzlers and am looking for suggestions. With the Metzlers, the Griso is difficult to turn at low speed and the front tire wants to "turn in" toward full lock, have to fight it. At normal/high speed, the bike just doesn't...

    Screaming clutch

I have the same issue with my Norge. Have had it for 15,000 miles. It hasn't gotten worse, and it goes away when the bike warms up so Todd's cold clutch plate remark is probably it in my case.

14000 miles and I need rings?!

Pete, I'm pretty sure this has been posted elsewhere, but can you or anyone else point me to the lowdown on the VDSTS software how to's? Where to buy it, how to use it, what accessory cable you need, that sort of thing? And does the software work with an Apple laptop (only one I have)? I am...

14000 miles and I need rings?!

This seems fishy. If the bike is running fine and not using oil, I suspect there may be an error in the test results. I further suspect this testing was done at Erico and they are, shall we say, not necessarily the cream of Guzzi afficionado's. Haven't had any Triumph work done there, but I...

    valve adjustment

There are a lot of writeups on this, but I'm not going to be the one to find them. However, a couple of pointers I can give; 1. The straw can be used to find TDC. You remove both spark plugs and valve covers. Pull the plastic cover on the front of the engine and rotate the 22mm? nut...

    Griso 1100 suspension

This thread has been great as to the how, but I'm not quite sure about the why. Can some knowledgable soul educate as to why (under what circumstances) one would want more vs. less compression and rebound damping? What settings cure what ills, how do your settings change for different weight...

So tell me what you do like.

What's not to like? All my 6 Guzzi's (except maybe the first, a well used Lemans III) have been dependable and given me very little trouble. They are easy to maintain, fun to ride, good handling, and more intersting than 99% of what else is out there. And the Guzzi community, both on-line and...

    K&N oil filter

Mike, My last filter didn't work with the wrench either?! And it drips! I'm using the wrench from MG Cycle and UFI filters, and it always worked before. It sort fo fits, but when you try to torque it it slips and will only go so tight. Did they change the filters I wonder?

    Doing Valves on a Norge

Ii is not necessary to do anything with the tank to adjust the Norge valves. You do, however, need a set of "ball end" allen wrtenches to get to the upper two valve cover bolts, as the access is not straight in. It is a tight spot, and I use a 5mm ball end allen wrench and a "magnet on a...

    advice please

I bought a new in the crate '07 from Moto International in Seattle, OTD at just over $9000. I haven't even picked it up yet, but I bought it last fall and they had several at that time.

    Just bought a new Griso!

Well, I wouldn't exactly say I'm setting it up for touring. You say that becasue I'm getting the Guzzi "tall" windscreen (which isn't very big), heated grips and the very small rear rack? I'm setting it up to be ridden. ;) I live in Colorado and I ride a lot, including commuting...

    Just bought a new Griso!

Yes. I almost bought one instead of the Norge.

    Just bought a new Griso!

Thanks, but I have questions. Maybe "screwing up the mapping" is the wrong thing to say. But I have a Norge and bought an aftermarket pipe for it and it turned the bike into a popping machine. Had to sell the pipe and I don't want that scenario again. So what does the PCV and ECU fix "Fix"...

    Just bought a new Griso!

But sorry, no pics. Bought a new in the crate black 2007 Griso 1100 from MI in Seattle, but I'm not going to take delivery until next Spring. I live in Denver so I don't have much use for a bike for the next several months, plus I already have a Norge for cold weather riding. However, I do...

    !st ride on a Norge

You got it wrong, because most Guzzi's, and especially the newer ones really like to rev. You should never run the bike at below 3000 rpm, and you should spend most of your time over 4000. If I run my Norge hard, rev it up quick, accelerate fast and then keep it between 4000 and 5000 rpm, I get...
