Alright, did have my first failure of the Guzzi this week. During riding on sunday I noticed that my left boot became slippery, so stopped immediately to prevent crashing. I was worried about an oil leak somewhere, but this worry was soon tempered when I smell some coolant.

The coolant came from in between the cilinders, but with all the plastic, it was not visible what the source was. The coolant reservoir was already empty, so it was not a small leakage. Called my wife to pick me up with the van.
Because it was sunday, and have to wait till tuesday for the dealer to open, I did remove some plastics myself. It could be a minor issue like a hose clamp or some sort.
But after removing 1000 screws to remove the plastic, screen, tank, airbox (was not fixed well enough)……I still did not see the source of the leak.
What I did notice during the removal of most of the plastics, is a loose wire connector nearby the ignitionkey. It was loose, and I did not fix it afterwarts. Does anyone no where this is for? I do not have wiring diagrams.

Removing the throttlebodies was a bridge to far, so I decided to build everything back togheter and call the dealer ASAP.
They found the leak: It was a badly mounted hose clamp, that damaged the hose. It was fixed and on wednesday I was riding again.

Learned some things:
The V100 is put together with haste
A lot of screws are used
The thermostat is placed in between the cilinders.

My V100 S is also leaking coolant. Probably the exact same issue. I did a double take when I saw your picture because it looks almost identical to mine. If the coolant wasn't bright pink I'm not sure how long it would have taken me to notice (I certainly did not notice an odor). No warnings on the dash and normal engine temperature.

Good luck with a quick resolution. Let us know what your dealer says. Thanks.

Just an fyi, my dealer told me Saturday that Moto Guzzi sent them new hose clamps that they are supposed to put on before delivering a v100 to it's new owner. Might want to check with your dealers and have them check in to it.

My V100 started leaking coolant at 900 miles. The water pump bolts were torqued up at the first service. 200 miles later the leak was back. I tightened up the 3 bolts I could access and it was fine. I took it back to the dealer who checked it over put lock tight on the threads of 6 bolts the other bolt was just torqued up. I have just completed another 150 miles and it is still leaking. Just over 1450 miles in total. Going back to the dealer to hopefully sort it.

It sucks when you have problems on a new model, but MG will make all better. I think these bikes will do great for the brand. I saw on fake book a dealer in Deland Florida has a white and red one.

Sounds like maybe it's not those bolts then? Interesting yours didn't start leaking until 900 miles. Mine was leaking after the 1st ride.

Mine started leaking as well, just drops, engine temperature normal. I'm at 1500 km, ready for the first service, I'll tell the dealer, hopefully they can quick find the issue and solve it.

had the first service on the bike and talked with the Guzzi guy about the leak. He did not find anything wrong with the bike, also water pump bolts were correctly tighten. According to him the leak is just a leak off from expansion tank, in fact now that temperatures in Rome started to increase I had a leak when riding in heavy traffic. mechanic gave me the bike suggesting me not to worry, just to check water temperature on the dashoboard, then if the (non) problem will come back I'll return to him and he will write to Moto Guzzi.

Looks like a "canisterectomy" would at least improve access to the water pump bolts if they need frequent inspection/attention. Anyone figured out whether ECU will go nuts if we re-plumb evap/overflow lines to "pre-insanity" days? (I believe the euro bikes still lack the obsession with "evapa-crapa" that infests the US, but maybe that has changed by now??)

A Guzzi leaking coolant..... it's a new world. Mine is leaking in the same place as Steve Jordan's photo. I've got about 1100 miles and it just started. I tightened the bolts which did take a bit but the leaking still happening. Appears its leaking at the top of the water pump gasket. Will let the dealer sort it out. Some gasket sealer seems in order.

Is there a menu setting for water temperature on the dash?

I just gone mine back from the dealer and they fixed the leak. There is a short upper breather hose that had a bad crimp clamp. They replaced it with a worm clamp and some new hose. Should be good but it wasn't easy to get to without pulling apart the top of the bike.

mine is back to workshop cause it is still leacking, a ticket has been opened for Guzzi warranty assistance. Hope it will be fixed soon, if Guzzi already know the issue and has already new hose and clamps mine should undergo the same process and be ready soon. Keep my fingers crossed
