    Fork oil

My fork oil must be long overdue for a change, there doesn't seem to be any drain plugs so I guess they have to be removed and tipped upside down. Would that be correct? Has anyone done this before? Any Tips?

    Left cylinder running rich.

Just doing the 90,000km service and noticed the left cylinder is running rich for some reason. The bike runs ok generally but but does have a bit of a rough period when warming up, once that passes it seems fine. I changed the spark plug leads recently so I don't think that is the problem...

    Rear drive oil seal?

Just found this today and haven't got time to look at it until tomorrow, anyone else had a leaking rear drive seal. It's not over filled as it's done a couple of thousand km's since it was last changed and it's only just happened. 86,000km all up.

    H B badge

Does anyone know how to remove the Hepco & Becker badge from these bags? I'd like to replace them with Guzzi ones, there is nothing showing on the inside of the bag and I don't want to damage them by levering them off if I can help it.

    40amp fuse problem

Further to my recent post 'Main fuse melted', FrankZ had an identical problem under his post 'Alternator Not Charging', it seems corrosion forms on the fuse spades and causes poor contact that leads to over heating and ultimate melting of the fuse. FrankZ's bike and mine were both charging...

    Main fuse melted

2015 Eldo. Has anyone had anything like this happen, service light came on plus service message, (not the spanner icon, that's just me being slack and not clearing it) abs and traction control lights on, I pulled over and the engine cut out, speedo still reading 399 when stopped. Most of that...

    Swing arm play

I saw a post in a 1400 group on facebook from someone that actually had a swing arm that rattled over bumps. I'd already removed my wheels for new tyres and so checked mine. There was definitely a slight amount of play in it which would probably not have been noticeable with the shock and wheel...

Cali screen buffeting fixed, for me anyway

On the subject of buffeting I've been playing around with my screen for a while and this works well for me. No buffeting at all and I can ride with my modular helmet open all day up to and above legal speeds. On a days ride I may get 1 or 2 small bugs on my sunglasses but that is about it. I am...

    Alternator belt highest mileage.

Just wondering how far people have stretched the service distance on the alternator belt, had mine replaced at the required 50,000kms but it was still almost as good as new. Thinking I might leave it longer this time.

    Disc pad recommendations

Hi all, due for replacement front brake pads and Brembo are just about non existent in Australia. I can get EBC HH pads, can anyone recommend them or have an alternative. Cheers, John.

Sump bolt stripped. Damn, blast and bugga.

Changing the oil today and the thread stripped in the sump and I wasn't using any excess force. 50,000kms and I've changed the oil every 5,000 so it has been in and out around 10 times. So question is, has anyone removed the sump and can it be done with engine in situ (fingers crossed). Also is...

    Alternator belt replacement

Hi all, it's getting close to the time to replace the alternator belt (50,000km) has anyone done one of these yet and if so are any special tools required?

    Battery question

Hi, just wondering if there is a problem leaving the battery on the 1400's disconnected for a period of time, as in 3 or 4 months or so. Will the computer settings, key codes etc. etc. still be saved when it comes time to restart it. Cheers, John

    Rear brake pad replacement.

I've had a search on the forum and the workshop manual isn't very clear, so can the rear brake pads be replaced without removing the rear wheel. Looking at the workshop manual all that is required is to remove the pin at the rear and pull the pads out. Cheers, John.

    Manifold nuts/studs

Has anyone found an alternative to the standard manifold nuts? I can see these being a problem down the track.

    Cracked rack

Just got back from a two week 6000km tour two-up and found the rack had had cracked, anyone else had a problem? Not blaming Moto Guzzi because it was well overloaded and some of our roads in Oz are not much better than goat tracks and even though cracked on both sides it was still solid enough...

Tom Tom Gps, maximum speed recording.

I recently bought a Tom Tom Rider 400 and while it has many good features it has one feature for me that will be a deal breaker if it can't be fixed. Under Trip Statistics it records maximum speed with no easy way to delete it except seemingly to do a complete reset every time. Which then wipes...

    Wiring connectors

Hi guys, looking to add a GPS unit to my Eldorado and so far I've found 3 empty wiring connectors. One is next to the battery and two under the front of the tank, can anyone tell me what they are for and what sort of connectors they are so I can try and get the equivalent half or is it easier to...
